Have you ever thought about volunteering?

DO you have time on your hands and an interest in animal welfare, especially cats?
We still need volunteers to work weekday morning shifts and occasional evening shifts at our shelter in Fishcross.
The job is highly rewarding and involves looking after the cats, feeding them, cleaning their pens and just generally making sure they get plenty of TLC. Morning shifts start about 9am and last about three hours. Evening shifts start around 6pm and take about an hour and a half.
It's a great way to meet like-minded people and there is always time to sit down and have a cuppa and a chat.
We especially need people on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Even if you cannot commit to a regular shift, we can put you on our reserve list to help out during holidays or when someone phones in sick.
There is a bus stop right at our front door if you don't happen to have transport of your own.
You can always call in for a taster session to see if it's the kind of thing that would suit you. Our volunteers are all given an induction. Ask any of them and they will tell you what rewarding work it is. For some retired and jobless people it has meant a whole new lease of life.
Volunteers also get the chance to attend away-day training sessions on a whole variety of topics from feline behaviour to cat husbandry.
It could be the start of a whole new chapter in your life! We all like to be needed and these cats really need you!
